In the Lesser Antilles of the Caribbean is St. Maarten, a beautiful destination with crystal clear waters, renowned not only for its pristine beaches but also for being a duty free shopping center and for its famous takeoffs and landings on Maho Beach adjoining the Airport International Princess Juliana.

But there is much more to take advantage of on this island of 37 square kilometers. The practice of water activities is one of the main proposals of the destination.

Scuba diving, kitesurfing, snorkeling, windsurfing, jet skiing and surfing are some of the options, which will provide a different air to the visitors’ stay. If the idea is to learn to surf, some places dictate classes, such as Coconut Reef in Simpson Bay.

They also offer stand up paddle, snorkel and canoe tours. Aqua Mania is another alternative. It has classes at the St. Maarten Sailing School, as sailing is one of the sports that stands out on the island.

In addition, this place organizes tours to the neighboring island of Anguilla, with activities like Dolphin Discovery, in which the visitor lives the experience of swimming with dolphins. And to stay informed about events and news from the sporting world, the key is at Trisport.

Founded in 1992 and inspired by the passion of athlete Malcolm Maidwell for triathlon, the organization sponsors bicycle and kayak races, as well as marathons and children’s events. The place also offers kayak and snorkel tours.
